DEBYSSING MACHINE

Removes the byssus at negligible shell damage.

This relative small debyssing machine is very much suited for smaller processing companies or specialised mussel restaurants. This machine pulls out the byssus threads completely, with a minimum of shell damage. Minimum length of the byssus threads must be approx. 15 mm. Because of its simple construction, daily maintenance and repairs are minimised. All bars are executed with a diameter of 20 mm. The rake movement is reciprocating. The complete rake assembly can be lifted for ease of cleaning (hand winch is option). The angle of the debyssing part is adjustable between 18º and 23º.
